During his suspension, Derick was restless since he couldn't be in school to keep his mind busy. To satisfy his perversive needs, he surfed the porn sites in the net. However, instead of suppressing his desire, the photos actually stimulate him further. He felt the need to see or even feel the 'real thing'. One place came to mind when he decided to go outdoor to 'relieve' his bursting 'excitement'. He headed for the public pool. It was a school day and the place was quite empty. A swimming coach was conducting a lesson for a group of young children. Derick watched them for a while before locking his sight onto a lone swimmer.

A young lady in a two-piece swim suit was swimming the length of the pool at a leisurely pace. Derick jumped into the pool to have a clearer and closer view of her. It seemed that her daughter was one of the young swimmers as she would wave to one of the gals as she swam past the group. That went on for about an hour and all this while Derick was having a good time observing her every bodily movement. Then she got out of the pool and headed for the changing room - something Derick had been waiting for. He got out of the water too, pretending to walk towards the male changing room but along the way he made a detour and sneaked into the female changing room instead.

She had just removed her top when Derick entered. The place was quiet and she was alone. Derick hid behind a roll of lockers and watched as she remove the second piece of her suit and walked into the cubicle, leaving the two-piece on the bench. As she turned on the shower, Derick came out from his hiding and moved towards the bench. He picked up her top and caressed it. He loved the smell of it and decided to keep it. Then he picked up the bottom piece and decided to put that into his haversack too. Next he moved towards the cubicle and stood in front of it. The rear view of the unsuspecting lady aroused him so much that he pulled down the only thing he had on him - his swimming trunks. Imagine the shock the lady received when she suddenly turned around to see a young naked boy standing in front of her. Derick was just as shocked and was about to turn to run when he tripped on his own trunks.

As Derick struggled to get back on his feet, the lady had recovered enough to let out a piercing scream for help. Derick collided into an attendant who was entering to check on the call for help. She managed to catch hold of Derick who was fighting hard to break free. A lifeguard nearby who heard the commotion went over to render help. Derick was handed to the police and was eventually charged for outraging the lady's modesty and for stealing her swim suit.

Due to his young age, Derick was sentenced to a year confinement at the Boys' Home. It was a double blow for his mother as by then Lena was already in rehab. To have both her favourite children locked up at the same time, was indeed too much for her to take. But instead of being thankful for her remaining sensible child, she blamed Trina - the jinx of the family, for what had happened to them. Thus instead of receiving a better treatment for being the 'only child' left, Trina's life was worse off as her mother would vent all her anger and frustration on her.
